The right care right now

Effective April 2020 our clinic now operates BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Our community medical clinic provides assessment and treatment for patients of all ages. Our physicians are trained in the management of urgent medical conditions, however this is not an emergency room. For emergencies requiring immediate care call 911.

- For many urgent medical problems our clinic provides the services required. - We have a limited number of appointments each day and do our very best to book patients in as efficiently as possible - A valid health card is required in order to avoid being billed for the visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can be seen at the walk-in clinic?

Any patient can be seen at the community medical clinic. We welcome patients from all provinces and upon presenting your valid health card from your home province we will bill your provincial insurance directly for your visit. If you do not have a valid health card or you are from out of country or Quebec (this province does not participate in inter-provincial billing) the cost of the visit is $45 to be paid at the time of your visit.

Do I need an appointment?

YES. As of April 2020 our clinic now operates BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Will my family doctor get a copy of my visit to your clinic?

A copy of your visit and any test results generated from your visit will be forwarded to your family doctor unless you instruct us not to forward the information.

How do I get medication refills?

During your visit with the walk-in doctor, most times, a 30 day refill on an existing medication will be provided, which will avoid an interruption in your medication until such time you can see your regular family doctor. NARCOTIC PRESCRIPTIONS will not be dispensed in the walk in clinic and must be filled by the doctor who prescribed it.

Does the walk in clinic doctor do sutures?

Minor lacerations will be assessed and if necessary stitches will be provided. MSI pays for the visit to the doctor, however there is a fee for supplies that is not covered under your provincial plan.

What is your clinics policy on test results?

If a test was ordered by a physician in our clinic and it comes back abnormal, you will be notified and given the option to come back in to our clinic or to follow up with your family doctor. Patients will not be called with normal test results unless previously discussed.
